Welcome to the Website of the Association of the Beverage Machinery Industry

Techn. personnel development

This process enables targeted, job-specific development of personnel for line/ machine operation and maintenance, in order to improve the skills and to reach the right knowledge. This improves safety and enhances the efficiency of the respective personnel and lines. Depending on the qualifications of the line personnel, trainees go through 4 process phases.

Pre-assessment

Pre-Assessments are done to determine the individual´s competency level regarding operation, understanding and maintenance of a machine/ line.

Advantages

  • Right mapping of personnel competences
  • Systematic, individualized training based on assessment
  • Increased training efficiency
  • Management of competences through qualified staff
  • Competences monitoring insurance

Training

Training geared towards operating and maintenance staff leads to efficient and safe handling of lines/machines.

Advantages

  • Safety through qualified staff
  • Increased efficiency
  • Minimisation of susceptibility to failure
  • Improvement of machines using customer feedback
  • Speedy commissioning
  • Automation of processing steps
  • TCO reduction

Phase 1: Basic course

The machine-specific basic courses address to participants who have little or no knowledge about machines from the beverage and packaging industry. The basic courses are designed to familiarise the participants with the respective machine. The functional components, controls as well as safety and security rules are dealt with. Moreover, instructions on the most important maintenance and service tasks for the respective line/ machine are included.

Target group:

Mechanics, mechatronics, electricians and staff entrusted with operation and maintenance tasks

Course contents:

Imparting knowledge about

  • General and specific company safety and security rules, related to the line/ machine
  • Functional components of the machine/ line
  • Introduction into the operation and control
  • Important cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Trouble-shooting

Course objective:

  • Familiarisation with the machines, technologies, system philosophies and safety and security rules
  • Imparting of a basic understanding of the machine components and the method of operation of the machine

Special Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of safety and security rules
  • Technical understanding is advantageous

Phase 2: Advanced course

The machine-specific and group-specific advanced courses are designed for the respective specialists, divided into mechanics/mechatronics, electricians and operators entrusted with maintenance tasks. In the courses the respective components are described in detail and where appropriate practice in the assembly/disassembly of important components is afforded.

Course contents:

Imparting knowledge about

  • Detailed information on the functional components, in part with practical exercises
  • Maintenance work, maintenance intervals
  • Successful fault diagnostics/trouble-shooting

Course objective:

  • In-depth elaboration of machine knowledge
  • Imparting of the skills required to guarantee reliable operation, maximum production efficiency and predictable system behaviour

Special Requirements

  • Participation in the basic course or
  • Prior familiarity with the machine

Phase 3: Refresher

Ideally the refresher course should be conducted

  • Changes at the machine (e.g. conversions)
  • Decrease of efficiency
  • After a reasonable familiarisation phase
  • Medium-term operator inactivity on machine management

Course contents:
  • Content of basic and advanced course
  • Interaction of the components
  • Successful fault diagnostics/trouble-shooting
  • Selective maintenance of the machine
  • Specialised topics
  • Parameter settings
Course objective:
  • Development of strong diagnostic skills for effective trouble-shooting
  • Optimisation of long-term production efficiency

Special Requirements:
  • People already accreditated in the past

Post-assessment

The purpose of post-assessment is proficiency-level monitoring, i. e., to check whether what was learned has been put into practice.

Advantages

  • Sure skills check
  • Targeted additional training is possible.
  • Post-assessment increases staff motivation during training.
  • Ideal precondition for smooth machine operation
  • The staff act independently in their daily operations.

Certificate

With the award of the Certificate/Protocol, the industry attests to the customer  that his line/machine is operated by qualified staff.

This Certificate/Protocol is individual-/machine-related, approved by the ABMI members and valid.

Advantages

  • Safety through qualified staff
  • Increased efficiency
  • Minimisation of susceptibility to failure
  • Improvement of machines using customer feedback
  • Speedy commissioning
  • TCO reduction
